Official American League (Harridge) ball signed in black fountain pen by twenty members of the 1936 World Champion New York Yankees, including Lou Gehrig (sweet spot), Joe DiMaggio (Rookie signature), Tony Lazzeri, Dickey, Ruffing, Rolfe, Powell, Chapman, Brown, Hadley, Broaca, Pearson, Glenn, Murphy, Selkirk, and Saltzgaver. (The signature of Lefty Gomez has been deemed a clubhouse example by JSA.) 1936 marked not only Joe DiMaggio’s rookie season, but the first of four consecutive World Championships for the New York Yankees, a feat that would be exceeded only by the 1949-1953 Yankees World Championship dynasty. 1936 New York Yankees team-signed balls with authentic Gehrig and DiMaggio signatures (as opposed to clubhouse examples) are particularly scarce and have always been highly prized by collectors.
